ChessTiltTerms of Use

ChessTilt is a free iPhone app made by Alessio Bezzi. By installing or using it you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose.
1. Licence
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use ChessTilt on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or attempt to decompile or reverse engineer it except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
Where these terms conflict with Apple’s Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, Apple’s standard EULA governs.
2. No affiliation with Lichess or Chess.com
ChessTilt is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Lichess, Chess.com or any chess federation. It reads publicly available data through their public APIs, and their names and trademarks belong to them. Your use of those services remains governed by their own terms, and their APIs may change or become unavailable at any time.
3. What the app is, and is not
ChessTilt is a self-awareness tool for chess players. It is not a medical device and not a treatment for gambling addiction, compulsive behaviour or any health condition. It reports on games you have already played; it does not block, restrict or prevent play, and the limits are targets you set for yourself rather than clinical advice. If your relationship with online play is causing you real harm, please talk to a qualified professional.
4. Accuracy
Game data, ratings and statistics come from third-party public APIs and are shown as received. They may be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Nothing in the app should be treated as an authoritative record of your results — the chess sites themselves are.
5. Provided as is
ChessTilt is provided free of charge, “as is” and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Alessio Bezzi is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app — including lost rating points, lost sleep or games you played anyway.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and it does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
6. Privacy
ChessTilt collects nothing. The details are in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
7. Changes
These terms may be updated when the app changes. The date at the top will always tell you when. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
